CRISPIN LEWIS, (Conductor from the 136th season), works mainly as a conductor and as a singer. In addition to his own ensembles, Crispin is engaged regularly as a guest conductor by orchestras and choirs. Crispin is the conductor of The Musicall Compass, - a specialist baroque ensemble of voices and instruments which he has conducted many times live on BBC Radio 3, at Wigmore Hall, at Kings Place, the ROH Linbury Theatre,St. John's Square and at many other major London concert halls - and of three choral societies, (Welwyn Garden City Chorus, Thurrock Choral Society and Luton Choral Society).

After studying violin to postgraduate level at the Royal College of Music, he studied orchestral conducting for three years with teachers including Denise Ham, George Hurst, Rodolpho Saglimbeni and Robert Houlihan.

Crispin works regularly as a solo singer, giving singing recitals and appearing as a soloist for various choral and orchestral societies.

Forthcoming engagements include playing the eponymous role in a production of Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro" with Thames Philharmonia.
